LDW – Loss Damage Waiver
If you purchase LDW, we waive your responsibility for damage to or loss of the Vehicle. We will not waive your responsibility, even though you purchased LDW, if you gave us false, fraudulent, or misleading information prior to the rental or during the rental, and we would not have rented the Vehicle to you or extended the rental period, if we were given true information, or if you fail to notify us and the police of an accident, theft or vandalism involving the Vehicle, or if damage to the Vehicle is the result of a prohibited use, including damage that:
- is caused by anyone who is not an Authorized Driver.
- is caused by anyone under the influence of a drug or alcohol;
- occurs while the Vehicle is used during the commission of a crime, other than a minor traffic violation;
- occurs while carrying persons or property for hire, while pushing or towing anything, during any race, speed test, or contest, or while teaching anyone to drive;
- results from carrying dangerous, hazardous, or illegal material;
- is caused by driving on unpaved roads;
- occurs while transporting more persons than the Vehicle has seat belts while carrying persons outside the passenger compartment, or while transporting children without approved child safety seats as required by law;
- occurs when the odometer has been tampered with or disconnected;
- occurs when the Vehicle’s fluid levels are low, or it is otherwise reasonable to expect you to know that further
- operation would damage the Vehicle;
- is caused by carrying anything on the roof, trunk, or hood of the Vehicle, or by inadequately secured cargo inside the Vehicle, or by an animal transported in the Vehicle;
- occurs when the vehicle is unlocked, or the keys or key fob are lost, stolen, or left in the Vehicle when not operating it;
- is caused, where applicable, by anyone who lacks experience operating a manual
- transmission;
- results from failure to allow sufficient height or width clearance;
- results from your willful, wanton or reckless act or misconduct

In the event of a loss due to theft of the Vehicle, we will not waive your responsibility for the loss unless you return to us all the Vehicle keys or ignition devices, we gave you at the time of rental.
LDW does not cover the loss or theft of keys or key fobs or the cost of delivering a replacement key or key fob or the towing of the vehicle to the nearest approved Nu Car Rentals location due to the loss of a key or key fob.
LDW does not cover jump-starts.
SLI – SUPPLEMENTAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), is a type of auto insurance that covers up to $500,000 of medical or property damage claims made against you by people injured in an accident.
- Third-party coverage: SLI provides coverage for any authorized drivers on your rental, ensuring that they are protected as well.
- Simplified claims process: By choosing SLI, you won’t need to report incidents to your personal insurance company. This helps prevent potential increases in your premiums following third-party claims.
- Supplementing credit card coverage: While some credit cards offer insurance coverage for car rentals, it’s important to note that they may have limitations and might not provide adequate coverage for third-party liability claims. SLI acts as primary coverage, filling in any gaps left by credit card policies.
- Peace of mind: With SLI, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that you have significant protection in case of an accident, including coverage for uninsured and underinsured motorists.
PAI – PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is an optional insurance policy that covers accidental death and accidental medical expenses for you and your passengers during the rental period of the vehicle.
Personal Accident Insurance can provide the following insurance coverage:
- Provides limited coverage for your personal belongings from loss or damage caused by theft, damage, or accident to your rental vehicle. The medical coverage limit can go up to $2,500.
- Provides reimbursement for the actual cash value of most items subject to certain maximums, deductibles, limitations, and exclusions.
- Protects your personal belongings as the primary renter and those of your immediate family traveling with you.
The maximum Personal Effects Amount per person is $750.00. A per-claim deductible of $0.00 applies.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE ACCIDENTAL DEATH BENEFIT
The Accidental Death benefit applies to you, and your immediate family traveling with you, during the entire period of the Rental Agreement.
This benefit applies to other passengers only while in, boarding, or alighting from the rental car. If an accident-causing injury should occur and result in death within one year from the date of the accident, the insurer will pay:
Insured Renter $250,000
Insured Passenger $125,000
ACCIDENTAL MEDICAL EXPENSES
The Accidental Medical Expense benefit provides you and your immediate family traveling with you up to $2,500 of 24-hour accidental medical expense coverage as reimbursement for qualified medical expenses incurred within one year and as a result of an accident resulting in injuries. In addition, passengers are covered while occupying, boarding, or alighting from the rental car. An additional Ambulance benefit of up to $500 is also provided per person.
As this type of insurance is not liability insurance, it’s important to note that it doesn’t cover damages to another person’s property or injuries to another person caused by yourself.
PAI can be a useful option for renters who don’t have personal health insurance or who have limited coverage. The cost of PAI is calculated on a daily basis and it depends on the location and rental period.
RSP – Roadside Service Protection
Roadside Assistance, if you purchase the optional Roadside Assistance, we will provide you with breakdown assistance (where available) without additional charges during operating hours.
Roadside Assistance includes:
- replacement of lost keys or key fobs,
- Towing services,
- jump start,
- key lockout services.
When deciding whether to purchase Roadside Assistance, you may wish to check whether you have other coverage for this service. Roadside Assistance is not an insurance.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER
All Drivers must present a valid Driver’s License as well as have a clean driving record and pass our digital driver’s license scanner. The Additional driver fee is a daily charge, and the price will vary per location, spouses are free, spouses are determined by either the same last name or the same address on the Drivers License.
EXPRESS TOLL
We offer an Express Toll package at the rental counter, which allows unlimited use of toll roads and express lanes within the states where our vehicles are permitted to travel.
If this package is declined but tolls are used, the cost of each toll violation plus a $30.00 administrative fee per ticket will be charged to the credit card on file.
These charges are applied after we receive the toll company’s invoice at the end of each month.
PREPAID FUEL OPTION
Vehicles are rented with a full tank. You may purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental or bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level for convenience.
Price: Our prepaid fuel rate is anywhere between $0.10 to $0.20 cheaper per gallon than the nearest gas station.
Convenience: skip the hassle of finding a gas station before returning your car. With prepaid fuel, you can return the car without refueling.
Discount rate: the prepaid fuel’s discounted rate applies only if the service is added to the rental agreement at the time of pickup.
Full tank prepaid: No refunds are given for any unused gas.
If you return the car on full, we will refund the prepaid option; this gives you the option of utilizing the prepaid fuel or not.
