NÜ Car Rentals — Hand Control Policy (ADA)

Policy Statement

NÜ Car Rentals is committed to providing equal access and mobility to all customers, including those with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all applicable state laws.
Hand control–equipped vehicles are available upon request at NÜ Car Rentals locations in Denver, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City.

Request Requirement and Advance Notice

  • Customers who require a vehicle equipped with hand controls must notify NÜ Car Rentals in advance of their reservation pick-up date.
  • Requests should be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled rental time whenever possible, to allow adequate preparation and equipment installation.
  • Requests received after a reservation has been generated will be reviewed immediately by the Customer Care (CC) Department, which will relay the request to the respective location manager for prompt coordination.

Every reasonable effort will be made to fulfill last-minute requests, but advance communication is strongly encouraged to ensure vehicle availability and a seamless experience.

Coordination and Compliance Process

  1. The Renter will have to initiate and inform CC Department about the special request.
  2. The CC Department will immediately notify the location manager of the request.
  3. The location manager is responsible for ensuring that:
    • A suitable vehicle is prepared and fitted with hand controls prior to pick-up.
    • The equipment is inspected for safety and proper functionality before the vehicle is released.
    • The rental process proceeds smoothly and on schedule.
    • Notate the account.

Fees and Charges

  • There is no additional charge for providing hand control equipment.

Customers remain responsible only for the standard rental rate and any other applicable charges unrelated to the accessibility modification

NÜ Car Rentals provides hand control–equipped vehicles upon request at our Denver, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City locations. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to allow preparation. Once a request is received, our Customer Care Department will coordinate with the location manager to ensure your vehicle is ready and properly equipped at the time of rental. No additional fees apply.
