Rental Requirement / Rental Qualification, Young Drivers Fee, Restrictions and One-way Rentals

Driver’s License Qualification

The renter and any authorized driver(s) must have a valid drivers’ license in their own name. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period.

Canadian citizens entering the U.S. by air must present a valid driver(s) license and passport. Customer with a foreign driver(s) license (other than a U.S. or Canadian driver(s) license) may be required to also present a valid passport as a secondary form of identification at the time of check out.

The name on the passport must match the name displayed on the foreign driver(s) license.

Young Driver Policy

The minimum age for renting a car is 21.  

All drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 may only rent economy cars, compact cars, standard cars, Fullsize cars, intermediate SUV, standard SUV, Fullsize SUV and minivans.

They may not rent Premium or Specialty vehicles. Young drivers 21 to 24 years are allowed to rent with an Underage Drivers Fee of $25 USD per day otherwise, drivers must be between 25-80 years of age.

Do you take or accept temporary Drivers License?

We do not accept temporary driver’s licenses. All drivers — including any additional drivers — must present a valid physical driver’s license at the rental counter to be added to the agreement and legally operate the rental vehicle.

Do you allow One-Way rentals?

Yes — one-way rentals may be available or may be arranged depending on location availability.

We currently offer one-way rentals only between our network locations in Phoenix, Arizona, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colorado. A one-way fee will apply, and rates vary based on the route and availability.
